St. Albert borders Edmonton's north-west edge, about 25 minutes (17 km) from downtown outside rush hour, and has the feel of a well-kept, established city. Red Willow Park's trail system follows the Sturgeon River right through the middle of town, and the St. Albert Farmers' Market fills the downtown streets on summer Saturdays.
Servus Credit Union Place is the main recreation hub, with arenas, pools and a field house, and the city's schools are a big draw for families. Homes range from mature neighbourhoods near the river to newer communities on the north and west sides.
