Stony Plain is a town just past Spruce Grove, about 40 minutes (40 km) west of downtown Edmonton. It is known for the outdoor murals painted across its historic downtown and for the Multicultural Heritage Centre, and it shares the TransAlta Tri Leisure Centre with Spruce Grove and Parkland County.
The town has a walkable main street and a quieter pace than the city, with newer neighbourhoods on its edges and acreages in the county around it. It suits first-time buyers and families who want more space for their money.
